As of 9 April, the underground water level at Ohara Observation Well was approaching the pre-earthquake normal level. Hence variation in the underground water level described below was related to the earthquake of 16 March.
At Hanaore Observation Well there was artificial water-pressure variation due to collection of spring water and long-term variation could not be determined.
