Kanto - Chubu Region



① On December 14, an M4.9 earthquake (maximum seismic intensity 4) occurred offshore west of Ishikawa Prefecture. During December, a total of 13 events with seismic intensity 1 or greater were recorded in the seismic activity zone of the "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquakes" (1 event with seismic intensity 4, 1 event with seismic intensity 3, 3 events with seismic intensity 2, and 8 events with seismic intensity 1).
   The place name of the epicenter used by the JMA in its information release was "offshore of the Noto Peninsula."

② On December 12, an M4.9 (maximum seismic intensity 4) occurred under southern Ibaraki Prefecture.

J-EGG500 from the Japan Oceanographic Data Center, GTOPO30 from the US Geological Survey, and ETOPO2v2 from the National Geophysical Data Center in the U.S. were used for the topographic and bathymetric data.
