- On December 10, at 23:52, an M6.0 quake (maximum seismic intensity 4) occurred offshore east of Aomori Prefecture.
- On December 12, at 11:44, an M6.9 quake (maximum seismic intensity 4) occurred offshore east of Aomori Prefecture.
- On December 28, at 00:05, an M7.0 quake (maximum seismic intensity 3 observed in Japan) occurred near Taiwan.
- On December 31, at 23:26, an M6.1 quake (maximum seismic intensity 4) occurred offshore of Iwate Prefecture.
