a) On February 19, in the ocean near Tokara Rettou (near Suwanosejima), there was slightly brisk seismicity with an earthquake (maximum seismic intensity 3) of maximum M3.5 at 19:17. In the vicinity, from February 19 to 24, there were 11 earthquakes with a maximum seismic intensity 1 or over.

On March 6, there was a M5.0 earthquake (maximum seismic intensity 4) under the ocean near Okinawa Main Island (near Okinoerabujima).

J-EGG500 from the Japan Oceanographic Data Center, GTOPO30 from the US Geological Survey, and ETOPO2v2 from the National Geophysical Data Center in the U.S. were used for the topographic and bathymetric data.
