Seismic activity in the area from the sea near Miyakejima to Niijima-Kozushima(entire period)


Since the volcanic eruption on Miyakejima on June 26th, seismic activity has continued in the area around Niijima and Kozushima, and there have been 2,293 events of M3.5 or greater in the period from the start of activity to September 21th.
On August 18th, there was an M6.0 event 6 km east of Kozushima, which registered a seismic intensity of 6 lower on Shikinejima. On July 1st there was an M6.4 event, and on July 9th an M6.1 event in this area. Also, on September 11th, there was an M5.3 event 5 km west of Toshima, which registered a seismic intensity of 5 lower on Toshima.

Since September 1st, the epicenter location process has returned to its normal state.
