Central Honshu
a) On 27 October an M6.1 earthquake occurred east of the island Hachijojima.
b) Earthquake activity on the border of Nagano and Gifu prefs., centering on the Kamikochi highlands, continued on a small scale throughout October (largest in October was M3.4).
In addition, though they occurred outside our time frame, on 5 November there was an M4.2 earthquake [maximum intensity 3] in northern Ibaraki Pref. and on 8 November an M4.6 earthquake [maximum intensity 4] at a depth of 80kms in northwestern Chiba Pref.
