The reduction in seismic activity in the conjectural locked zone in the Tokai region
The count for the zones since the activity began to decrease, in the period from August 22nd 1999 and August 15th 2000 for 12 zones was: 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 5, 2, 7, 4, 6, 2, 5. For zone 13 (August 16th to September 14th, 2000), in the 22-day period until September 6th, the count was four.
When compared to the previous incidence (6.32 events per 30 days), this incidence as a whole is 42% lower. When only the incidence for 2000 is considered, it represents a 30% drop.
