Seismic activity in the sea east of Hokkaido
On August 16th, there was an M5.7 event, and on September 3rd there was anM5.2 event in approximately the same location. There was an M6.8 event onJanuary 28th of this year in this region, and the activity level hasremained relatively high since that event.
