Tohoku Region


a)On 2 May, there were two M4.8 events in the same location in which an M5 class event occurred on 26 April, within the aftershock region of the 1994 M7.5 earthquake off the Haruka coast. Additionally, on 24 May there was an M4.5 event 150 km to the north-northeast (the site of the strongest aftershocks of the offshore Tokachi earthquake of 1968).
